WLFN Community Meeting – Chief and Council Remuneration Policy

WLFN Members, join us for a Members-only meeting on Monday, July 8th, 2024 at the Elizabeth Grouse Gym (2674 Indian Drive) with the purpose of discussing potential changes to the remuneration policy for WLFN’s Chief and Council. The meeting will begin with dinner and will be followed by a presentation and an opportunity for questions and input on the potential options for changes to the Chief and Council remuneration policy.

Currently the compensation of WLFN’s Council is determined by U69 WLFN Compensation Management Policy 2024, which provides that the Chief receives full-time compensation (salary), and members of Council receive honorariums for their participation at regular Council meetings and other meetings, as required. Council has arranged for the existing policy to be reviewed by administrative staff with the purpose of updating and adding additional clarity to the policy as well as providing options for more substantial changes to the policy. As part of this review process, staff is seeking input from Members at a community meeting scheduled to be held on July 8th 2024.
